Module Description

This module is designed to improve students’ overall proficiency and confidence in developing academic skills: academic writing; reading; listening and speaking.  There is particular emphasis on increasing subject-specific vocabulary and language-use.  Building on EAP I, there will be greater emphasis on academic argument, introducing and analysing different points of view. Academic writing:

Development of planning and structure.  Introducing and developing argument.  Appropriate use of style.  Re-enforcing learning from EAP I.  Avoiding plagiarism.  Intellectual Property.
