BSc (Hons) Food Safety Management
This innovative degree programme aims to educate students in contemporary international agriculture who, upon graduation, will be able to apply their advanced and specialized skills to the management of agricultural enterprises and the quality enhancement of agricultural products. The aim is to produce high-quality graduates such as agricultural advisors; agronomists, nutritionists, and farm and enterprise managers with all-around abilities to meet the requirements of an increasingly diverse and technologically advanced agricultural industry in Uzbekistan and the rest of the world.
Course content
Food safety is a major area of concern to governments and business, globally. While significant steps have been taken to address food safety issues, much remains to be done, in Uzbekistan and elsewhere. There is thus an identified need for new graduate entrants to this field. Those entering this area of work need a broad skill set that encompasses the science and technology of food production and safety as well as the more generic management skills found in all business degrees. This pathway will therefore complement the business core modules with a full focus on food safety throughout the food supply chain.
Modules
All our programmes provide practical skills and training opportunities, a focus on innovation and guidance for personal growth and development, insights into global challenges and perspectives, and the development and integration of research-informed teaching.
