Food safety is a global concern that covers a variety of different areas of everyday life. The principles of food safety aim to prevent food from becoming contaminated and causing food poisoning.


The vision of the program is transferred in a roadmap with 5 program guidelines: governance, regulatory framework, infrastructure, investments and innovation.


Agronomy is the application of science and technology from the fields of biology, chemistry, economics, ecology, soil science, water science, pest management and genetics to the improvement and management of the major food crops of the world.

Natalya Steane is a Cotutelle PhD student at Coventry University (UK) and Aarhus University (Denmark). Her research “Examining Public Universities’ Internationalisation Policies and Strategies as Tools of Public Diplomacy: Case Study of an English University and a Danish University” is in the fields of public diplomacy (soft power) and internationalization of higher education.

She earned MA in Diplomacy and Communication at the University of Kentucky (USA) through a MUSKIE fellowship (awarded by the US State Department and IREX) and Master by Research degree in Korean Studies at Coventry University.

Her areas of interest are public diplomacy, soft power, international relations, nation branding, higher education, internationalisation, Korean studies, PGR and staff development, multicultural and inclusive education.

Dr Carlos Machado has participated since 1998 in EU funded projects related to modernization of higher education, capacity building and development and research, specially in Central Asia. His research background lies in the field of social policies with participation in two FP frameworks and more particularly in social inclusion through new technologies. He has written over 30 articles and publications related to Social Sciences – from social policies to innovation and entrepreneurship. He graduated in Political Sciences and International Relations at Universidad Complutense de Madrid. Thereafter, he obtained a Master degree in Science, Society and Technology by University of East London. He has participated as individual expert for different initiatives of EuropeAid and the European Commission. He frequently conducts monitorings, evaluations and impact analysis related to higher education across the globe. Furthermore, he is advisor in Bologna implementation and Internationalisation processes.

Mr. Jochem Pleijsier has Master’s degree in Human Geography (1982-1987). In (1987-1988) he has worked as a Geography teacher. Has a Several certificates: project manager (International Project Management Association) etc. Nowadays he is a part of a special pool of project managers at the Ministry of Agriculture, Nature and Food Quality and at the Ministry of Economic Affairs & Climate.
