International Agriculture University's Smart Sustainable Agriculture faculty students

⛰️ International Agriculture University’s Smart Sustainable Agriculture faculty students, accompanied by their teacher Professor Sergei Yazvenko, embarked on a field trip to Lashkerek Gorge near the town of Angren on April 25th.

🌲 This location boasts some of Uzbekistan’s best-preserved Juniper (archa) forests.

⚡️ The objective of the trip was to observe and describe soil formation processes and factors, ecosystem functions and services, and the impacts of human coexistence with the environment, including wood-cutting, grazing, and farming.

🤩 The trip was fantastic, filled with enjoyment and discoveries, as well as team-building activities. Participants traversed various ecosystems, observed and discussed nearly every concept, process, ecosystem service, and aspect of soil science learned throughout the semester. This hands-on experience is immensely beneficial for students. Lunch with stunning vistas and a visit to a waterfall added to the trip’s memorability.
